The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has begun announcing official results in Zimbabwe’s  Presidential and parliamentary elections after a long delay amid fears of vote rigging.
ZEC started announcing the results shortly before 7 a.m. (0500 GMT) a grueling 36 hours after the polls closed down for the presidential and parliamentary elections on Saturday the 29th.

Tension had earlier been mounting in Zimbabwe's capital as the country's commission refused to announce the results of Saturday's poll, fuelling rumors that Mr. Mugabe had lost despite widespread vote-rigging, and was planning to declare victory regardless.

A total of 210 parliamentary seats are due to be declared as well as the result of the simultaneous presidential election.

The first six parliamentary constituencies were evenly split between ZANU-PF and Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

Was it a GOOD idea for the MDC to drop out of the run-off elections?
