A bad omen should be haunting Robert Mugabe following strange developments that saw the deaths of a presidential official and a civilian in separate incidents around State House on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Zimbabwe President: Robert G. Mugabe A Presidential motorcade escort bike rider who was seriously injured on Tuesday morning in an accident at the corner of Seventh Street and Baines Avenue, as he escorted Mugabe died at Parirenyatwa Hospital on Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning also saw a strange accident in which a tree fell on a moving car killing one person and injuring two others taking place in the same State House vicinity along Chancellor Avenue. Eyewitnesses said a tree suddenly fell on a moving Toyota Corolla, which had three women and a toddler. The victim died on spot while the other two women were seriously injured and rushed to hospital where they are reported to be in critical condition. The Fire Brigade rushed to the scene and extricated the women from the mangled vehicle but the toddler was not injured. In the motorcade accident Assistant Inspector Tsaiya Tozivepi (31) who was clearing the way for the motorcade on an escort bike collided with a Mazda 323 seriously injuring two occupants in the car who have also bee admitted in hospital in critical conditions. The Zimbabwe Gazette sought explanation on the matter from various religious sectors, all of which concurred that an evil spirit should be haunting the State House or Mugabe.
Sekuru Pariwa, a traditional healer from Mbare said the developments were very bad signs and a very bad thing could happen soon around the same area. “A cleansing ceremony has to be done. It is not normal to have such strange accidents in succession. The links of the accidents seem to be the area of occurrence, which is the State House. “It says a lot about that area. There is indeed a bad omen and a cleansing ceremony has to be held indeed. The President should do something about it. If nothing is done immediately, that spirit could cause a worse incident in that area. Even Mugabe himself has to be careful because we do not know where the spirit aims,” said Sekuru Pariwa. A pastor with a Pentecostal church also echoed the traditionalist’s sentiments. “It is the work of the devil and evil spirits. Such strange things are always the work of the evil. Christians should pray that nothing worse happens,” said the pastor who refused to be named. A few years ago, a local journalist was tortured for reporting that the late Herbert Chitepo’s ghost haunted Mugabe at the State House following similar unfortunate incidents in that area. |
