In the run-up to the horrific June 27 presidential run-off election, headlines were made when the ruling ZANU PF notorious youth militia murdered four main opposition- MDC members at a house in the high density suburb of Chitungwiza, which is about 30 kilometers from Zimbabwe’s capital- Harare.

Generally, Zimbabweans across the country boycotted the one-man race presidential run-off election in which Mugabe ‘declared’ himself the winner and was quickly sworn in as head of the state for the sixth consecutive term.

Politically motivated violence has eased in Zimbabwe, just after the opposition MDC candidate, Morgan Tsvangirai announced his June 27 presidential election boycott, but terrorization from ZANU PF continues.

Zimbabwean business came to a standstill this week as many firms closed down to ‘pave’ way for the 2008 presidential run-off poll ‘preparations’ which have been marred by violence fuelled by the ruling ZANU PF party.
