Zimbabwe Plunges into Darkness

Zimbabwe is currently being hit by persistent blackouts which are affecting the whole country, as the financially crippled power utility, ZESA Holdings is taking time to resolve the problem which is mainly affecting business and general day to day activities, on the back of a major power shortage in the Southern African region.

Zimbabwe Dollar Takes Heavy Knock

The Zimbabwean dollar took a heavy knock against other currencies during the weekend, a couple of days after the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) governor, Gideon Gono introduced the new set of higher denomination bearer cheque notes.

City Life Loses Lustre

It is 5:30pm in the suburb of Warren Park, about 10km south of the capital, Harare. The main roads in the suburb are busy as people are going home from work. Some disembark from kombis and buses; some ride bicycles whilst some walk, especially from the Willowvale industrial area. Women can also be seen heading home with firewood on top of their heads.

Cash Crisis to End as Gono Brews Shocker
