After spending $400 million and waiting in the cold night at Monomotapa Crowne Plaza for hours, it was only a few minutes and more counting waiting for the RnB super star to feature at the long awaited welcome party which was organized and hosted by Long Cash Entertainment. Only to find out he wasn't going to feature at the party.
Joe Thomas Long cash Entertainment which is owned by “The Munangagwa Syndicate”, the sons of Minister Emerson Munangagwa, had to folk out US$5000 hard cash for him to feature at the show at the last minute. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority boss Marikoga Kaseke had originally stopped the party days before, disputing the tight schedule of the super star.
Casey Munangagwa better known as Cash and his brother JT made talks with Joe Thomas' manager and he granted the star will be available to attend the welcome party only after they pay them US$5000. It only took them a single call to bring the hard cash regardless of the forex hardships looming around the country.
After failure of the International super star to feature at the welcome party, ZTA boss Mr. Kaseke openly made a statement to the crowd that had been waiting in the cold night for the party. “We have nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing to do with this private function or what ever you want to call it, I believe you are calling it a party. ZTA has nothing to do with this”, said Mr. Kaseke. “This was a private arrangement made by private individuals with the manager of Joe Thomas and ZTA has nothing to do with this”, he added. “I believe you have paid ZW$400 million to attend what ever you are calling this, and the only thing that I can do is to give you two tickets for the main show for every single ticket that you have” said ZTA boss showing deep disappointment to the organisers of the show.
He then later added that all the welcome parties and after parties that are being published in the media by various nite clubs will not be associated with ZTA and people should not be fooled. “We are going to take control and we are going to arrange the after party and not let private individuals undermine the credibility of the ZTA” said Kaseke.
Before the announcement by the ZTA boss, party lovers were already being treated to a free bar and snacks all paid for by Long Cash Entertainment. This was in hope that the super star will feature on the event and become the party to remember. “Cash” expressed his views in a different way than a man who will be paying $ZW7 billion for the bar and snack at the end of the day. “As the word says 'Long Cash', tine mari yakareba, zvose zvatinoita, nezvatinazvo zvakadeda,” saying that in literal terms to the few crowd that was left after the flopped show.
Long Cash Entertainment also happens to own the famous joint in Harare, Circus Nite Club and also another Soap making company that got a grant from the ruling government for promote upcoming small and medium enterprises.
Joe's Manager could not be available for comments since he was already swarmed by fellow Zimbabwean sisters trying to get some green bucks for the night's services. I guess they were the only ones that had a real welcome party. |
